Beach Brothers For Christ

You might know that we host Men Following Christ, a monthly gathering of men with the goal of inspiring one another with the message that we are all a work in progress, being made perfect through the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. 

But did you know that we also have a men’s ministry in Florida called Beach Brothers For Christ?

Our History

Don Clemens named the group in the fall of 2020 after two other men met for lunch and invited Don to join them. During their conversation, they felt led by God to start a weekly Bible study for men in the Holmes Beach, Florida area. 

Due to COVID restrictions, they needed a space to gather safely outdoors and began meeting every Wednesday from 8:30 – 10am at the Anna Maria Beach Café.

By September, through word of mouth and by inviting other men they knew in the area, even men who saw the gathering at the café and decided to join, the group grew to 10 men.

Today, 20-30 men gather at each meeting located in the marketplace of Anna Maria Island, Florida.

Weekly Bible Study Gatherings

Within two months of having the idea of a weekly men’s Bible study, Don and the other participants accomplished the following:

• Decided on naming the group BB4C (Beach Brothers For Christ).
• Put together a basic gathering format to allow everyone new to share their story.
• Found gifted volunteers to lead the studies each week to avoid the group being dependent on a single person.
• Made ministry business cards to share with the community and use as invitations.
• Began taking up a weekly offering to support local ministries.

Men who attend the weekly gatherings are encouraged to connect with one another via text and email for sharing prayer requests and daily Bible verses.

Our Growth

Since its first meeting in August 2020, Beach Brothers For Christ has had over 100 men participate. They’ve held two baptisms, have prayed with many community families, made life-long friendships, and have donated more than $12,000 to local Christ-centered ministries and individuals in the Holmes Beach, Florida area. All glory to God!
