Count Me In: Why DreamOn Studios Is Returning to The Global Leadership Summit
GLS

The Global Leadership Summit (GLS) is happening August 8-9, 2024 at Warsaw Community Church in Warsaw. It’s a 2-day event that brings together global leadership faculty members and focuses on empowering attendees to effectively lead exactly where you are.
This annual event is hosted live from Willow Creek Church outside of Chicago and is broadcast to satellite locations across the globe.
If you’ve never attended GLS, we want to give you an idea of what to expect, as well as feedback from one of our attendees, Mason Geiger, who has attended for several years both as an individual business owner and as part of the DreamOn Studios team.
He first attended GLS in person at Willow Creek in 2014 and has attended the Warsaw satellite location event annually since 2017.
As a GLS veteran attendee and C4One board member, we appreciate Mason taking the time to share his unique insights about the event in our interview below.
How Have You Been Involved With GLS Over The Years?
The first few years I began attending GLS, it was just me, but as our DreamOn Studios team has expanded we make a point to give the entire team the opportunity to attend. You can typically spot our staff capturing video footage, handling local production needs, as well as capturing footage for LoveFW for their satellite sites.
Often because we’re so heavily involved in the production the day of GLS we love getting to take lunches the following weeks to replay the summit talks and watch as a team to catch any details we missed.
Every year I walk away with a book full of notes and action items that I want to develop into our culture. But what I love even more is hearing from our team on what their key takeaways were and what stood out to them.
The Birth Of DreamOn Studios
DreamOn Studios was actually born out of a connection at our local GLS. I first met Tim Early at GLS in 2019 at the PAC and he saw the impact of the storytelling we were doing with the community films we were producing for our local summit site.
We stayed connected over the next couple of years and then in 2021 we had the opportunity to partner together and start DreamOn Studios, expanding the impact of video storytelling in our community and beyond.
What Is One Of Your Favorite Memories From GLS?
In 2019 we launched the “Do Something” campaign at the PAC. Seeing our community rally around local non-profits, walking out of GLS sessions, and immediately having the opportunity to get connected, volunteer and make an impact on lives in our community was powerful.
How Does Your Experience At GLS Further DreamOn Studios’ Goals?
As a leader, it’s the shot in the arm for both my personal leadership goals and the leadership of DreamOn Studios. What we learn at GLS isn’t just for us but also helps give us new insights on how we can better support our clients and partners.
Our team is passionate about learning something new every day and being 1% better than we were the day before. GLS is an opportunity for us to take a huge leap in our learning experience. You never know when you’re going to hear that one nugget or idea that unlocks something deep inside of you or your organization!
Because GLS happens in August, it’s perfect timing for me coming out of a busy summer season. I love seeing our community come together to grow and improve. The ideas and actions that result from attending GLS are why I’m so passionate about it and grateful that we have access to it right here in our Kosciusko County community.
Do You Have Any Advice For Those Attending GLS For The First Time?
Take lots of notes! Sometimes it feels like you’re drinking from a firehose and it’s easy to get overwhelmed by all the information. However, taking the time to jot down key takeaways from each session during the breaks and discussing those with your team makes it easier to digest.
When I hit a roadblock later in the year, I love being able to pull out my notes from previous GLS sessions to spark inspiration.
What Makes You The Most Excited To Attend GLS 2024?
Coach K is one speaker that I’m really looking forward to, but I’m also excited about discovering new leaders. There are a lot of speakers this year that I haven’t heard of before and that’s exciting!
I love experiencing new learning opportunities and I always look forward to the “Summit Stories” as well. Seeing people living out their why and mission is incredibly inspiring.
