Igniting Transformation: Empowered By The Global Leadership Summit

The Global Leadership Summit (GLS) is happening August 8-9, 2024 at Warsaw Community Church in Warsaw. It’s a 2-day event that brings together global leadership faculty members and focuses on empowering attendees to effectively lead exactly where you are.

This annual event is hosted live from Willow Creek Church outside of Chicago and is broadcast to satellite locations across the globe. 

If you’ve never attended GLS, we want to give you an idea of what to expect, as well as feedback from one of our attendees, Drew Scholl, who is also the CEO of C4One.

As a past GLS attendee and key leader of C4One, we appreciate Drew taking the time to share his unique insights about the event in our interview below.

How Have You Been Involved With GLS Over The Years?

Prior to my role in C4One, I spent 20 years on the leadership team at Wildman Business Group. GLS has been, and continues to be a highlight of our leadership development efforts.

I’ve attended GLS six or seven times, always with my fellow employees or teammates. At each conference, I walk away inspired with new perspectives and ideas on how to be a better, more authentic leader.

GLS always inspires me to think differently, to be bold and courageous in figuring out what it looks like to follow Jesus and yield our business and our purpose to him.

What I have experienced is truly seeing Ephesians 3:20 lived out: that He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. 

What Is One Of Your Favorite Memories From GLS?

Twenty years ago, my brother-in-law Josh Wildman and I attended the GLS conference in Chicago for the first time. It set fire to some thoughts that had been developing around the idea of “faith in the marketplace” and opened our eyes to what could be possible. A lightbulb went off for us, and we were ignited! 

On the return trip back, we enthusiastically began to type out what we called, “God’s Plan For Wildman” (we thought it sounded inspiring and cool, and it rhymed).

This document had some far-fetched dreams of what could be possible someday, ideas like giving away $1 million in one year, facilitating marriage retreats in Hawaii, taking team members on mission trips and giving extra paid vacation days to do so, prayer gatherings, Bible studies, above market wages, and so many more dreams of what it might look like if we fully surrendered our business to God and stewarded everything towards his purposes.

It started with dreaming about what was possible in an organization whose purpose is to serve God and make him known – to do business as a ministry, putting God first and people a close second.

The crazy thing is, nearly all of these far-fetched dreams have been accomplished (or are in the process of being accomplished), and then some! 

How Do You Think Attending GLS Contributes to Your Employees’ Professional Development?

Each year we send our team members to attend GLS, and they always come away a little better, a little sharper, and inspired to continue discovering how their leadership can lead to impact. A better follower results in a better leader.

There are some who point to GLS as a pivotal moment in their life. This annual conference awakened them, gave them new perspectives, and literally changed the trajectory of their life, and in one particular instance, their marriage!

What Makes You The Most Excited To Attend GLS 2024?

I always look forward to new perspectives and insights, for new ways to approach things, and certainly to be inspired in how to live out my faith missionally in the marketplace.
